The third edition of the Agra Taj Car Rally, organized by the Motor Sports Club in collaboration UP tourism department, was held from January 30 to 31, 2016. The event, government officials said, will promote adventure tourism in Agra.
Motorsports club of Agra had decided to increase the number of participants from 84 to 100. Following the success of previous year’s event, the government had already decided to make it an annual affair.
The then Chief Minister of UP Hon’ble Shri Akhilesh Yadav flagged off the final round of the rally on January 31 from the then under construction Agra-Lucknow expressway. The rally covered a distance of 350km, of which 225km was for the competition, running through tourists centres like Bah, Bateshwar and Shaurpuri. Participants from Delhi, Chandigarh and Rajasthan took part in the event.
